Meet Kaysa
“Look out Carrie and Reba, there’s going to be another great country singer from Oklahoma!”

This small-town girl with a big voice and an even bigger heart started entertaining audiences at only 18 months old. Born and bread a performer, soon-to-be 15 year old, Kaysa Dion has spent the majority of her life on stage performing at various regional venues such as the Oklahoma Centennial Rodeo Opry and Six Flags Over Texas, and eventually opening up for major acts including Neal McCoy, The Oak Ridge Boys, T.G. Sheppard, Lorrie Morgan, and Ronnie Milsap.
When she is not training for dance, piano, voice, performing at a minor league baseball game, special fundraising event, or statewide festival, you just might find her playing volleyball, softball, basketball, or riding horses — especially since she loves the great outdoors!
While this humble teenager brings a peaceful light to your world, her story of inner strength, power, and determination inspires you and everyone around her.
On December 5th, 2016, while playing basketball, Kaysa was hit in the left temple by the center of her teammates forehead. Because she wasn’t knocked out, she got right back up again — in normal Kaysa fashion — and stayed in the game. The next day, with only a headache getting in her way, she decided to play another game, however this time she came off looking lazy on the courts. Nausea then became an issue the following day, but she was persistent and went to school anyway, only to end up making no sense, being completely confused as to which class she was attending, and had eyes that were glazed over by her second hour class. She fell asleep before mom arrived to pick her up, and soon after learned she had now become sensitive to light and sound. A quick call to the doctor determined she had experienced a concussion. Her symptoms increased, resulting in a trip to the emergency room, visiting the doctor every other day for 10 days, and her inner ear swelling so much that it became visibly obvious in her face and neck from the outside.
After several Neurological tests, she was not only told she had a traumatic brain injury that would take a year to recover from, but moreover that she needed to cut out music and athletics. Her eyes filled with tears as she proceeded to tell the doctor how music was the one thing she could actually remember how to do. They agreed she could continue working on her music by ear so as not to overstimulate her brain.
It wasn’t long before she would be recording in the studio. After receiving an encouraging text from a friend, competing again in music contests, and listening to a lot of music, including one of her favorite artists Neal McCoy’s Pride Album, she was inspired to cover her own version of “Mountain of Love.”
As it ended up, she recently completed her 8th grade year being the highest in her class with straight A’s and was asked to speak for the Science Academy. During her speech, she uttered these words, which were completely unplanned.
"Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety nine percent perspiration."
Thomas Alva Edison
Still recovering today, her music not only lifts her spirit but also paints an infectious smile across every listeners face! Her sound is inspired by classic country artists of our time mixed with a fresh pop flavor. So get ready to roll your windows down and crank up the volume, because her cover of Neal McCoy’s “Mountain of Love” will be your new favorite country jam!
“I used to feel like I wasn’t smart or talented.
God shows me everyday, as I work through this injury, how intelligent I really am.”
